Sweet, loving and adorable Phillip arrived at GTHS on Sunday November 10th after a long journey. This two year old, cairn terrier maltese cross was rescued from a reserve outside of Timmins by an AMAZING group called ARF (Animal Rescue Foundation). The first two years of his life were spent chained to a tree, with just a small dog house to retreat to.
When Phillip arrived at GTHS he was badly matted, with large clumps of hair all over his body. He had never been brushed or groomed, or received any love and affection, yet he remained a sweet, cuddly and loving boy. He slept the whole day Monday at the shelter – he was warm, well-fed and well-loved. On Tuesday he went for his vet appointment, and was neutered and was groomed. On Wednesday, he couldn’t get enough of his hair cut, which prompted a photo shoot of him in his red sweater.
Then on Thursday, the best day of all, he went home with his new FOREVER mom, Christine. He will be living the high-life (read “spoiled”!) in Toronto, spending lots of afternoons at the park and nap times on the couch. We are so happy that he has found a wonderful, forever friend and a loving home to spend the rest of his days! Congrats Christine and Phillip!
