Adoption Update: Hazelnut

It was written in the stars for pup Ellie Mae (now Hazelnut) and her new adopters to meet.  At least that is how it seemed to GTHS staff and volunteers who recently attended the Meaford Pet Expo, where they met Hazelnut’s future parents.  With no intention of adopting a new pup, one look at Hazelnut’s beautiful face in our adoption binder sent her parents over to the GTHS right away to welcome her into her new home.

Hazelnut’s new dad tells it best:

“We hadn’t planned to adopt a dog a few weeks ago, but sometimes fate intervenes! We fell in love
with Ellie Mae right away, who could resist that face and those long silky ears? Her name is now Hazelnut, and she settled into her forever home almost immediately. Hazel’s new home is on a hundred acre property, so she has lots of space for walks, and lots of wildlife to keep her hound nose entertained, though she’s not so sure about cows and horses.

She is the most polite girl, and very respectful of her new older fur-siblings. She checks up on our elderly rat terrier regularly, and her presence has put a bit of pep in the step of our 15 year old collie cross who loves to go on long walks with her new younger, bouncier sister. Her humans are
getting a bit more exercise too!

Honestly, I’m not sure who won the lottery more, her or us, but she is a delightful addition to the family.”

Thank you for sharing, and Happy Tails, sweet Hazelnut!
