Hi everyone! My name is Bane (Baa-nay) and I just wanted to give you an update on how things are going.
I was surrendered to the GTHS in January 2023 when my owner could no longer care for me. After 122 days of being available for adoption, I was finally adopted by my new Dad, Michael! On the first day when I arrived at my new home I was so excited to explore the deck and the fenced in backyard that had soft grass, a garden, a garage and apple & pear trees. After dinner I realized there was more house to explore so I took myself up the staircase to investigate all the nooks and crannies. To make a long story short, I didn’t realize how scary stairs were and once I went up, I wouldn’t come down! My Dad tried EVERYTHING to get me to come downstairs but I just couldn’t do it. Every day he slept with me on the floor, gave me my meals and cleaned up after me and finally on Day 8, he managed to coax me to the very bottom of the stairs! Once I came down I was excited to see the rest of the house and I don’t have any problem going up and down the stairs now.
My Dad spoils me every day with treats and adventures and people tell us that we are “kindred spirits”, whatever that means. Last week I had my first grooming appointment. Because I am a little unsure of new things and I don’t always like to meet new dogs, we played it safe and I wore a muzzle. I didn’t really like the blow dryer but I was okay with everything else and I even met a new dog friend, Toby! I want to say thank you to all of the kind people who worked very hard to help me get adopted. I found the perfect Dad who is so patient with me. He even lets me sleep on his bed!
That’s it for now. Love & snuggles, Bane xoxox
