Inventory Coordinator

Our Outreach Program consists of a variety of services available to pet owners within our community and beyond: low cost spay/neuter and wellness clinics for pet owners on a limited income, population control for community cats, as well as the provision of food and pet supplies for pet owners in need.

In 2021, the Outreach Team facilitated the microchipping and immunization against rabies for pets in our community, distributed 14,500 free pet meals and 777 lbs of litter through our Pet Panty services, and spayed/neutered 1,408 owned pets, 155 Community (feral) Cats and 137 animals from other rescue clients.

Description
Reporting to the Outreach Coordinator, the Inventory Coordinator will oversee the garage/receiving area and storage container, to ensure these areas are clean, organized and well-stocked with Pet Pantry supplies.
Time Commitment
Approximately 2 hours once to twice weekly. A minimum commitment of 6 months is required.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Maintain clean and organized storage space in the garage/receiving area and storage container
  • Ensure items are stored within their assigned spots
  • Liaise with the Outreach Coordinator (or the Community Programs & Customer Care Manager and the Animal Care Manager, as appropriate) on what’s working with space planning, areas for improvement and recommend solutions
  • Control stock by reporting food, litter and any other supplies’ levels for Pet Pantry
  • Restock animal and retail areas after food and pet supply deliveries
  • Assist with unloading and organizing on-going donations
  • Ensure floor space is clear for scheduled deliveries and Community Cat Days (holding area pre- and post-surgery)
  • Liaise with Dog Care Team Leads (and Animal Care Manager or the Director of Operations, as appropriate) to ensure storage container remains accessible year ‘round
  • Follow appropriate H&S and GTHS protocol
Qualifications
  • 18 years of age minimum
  • Demonstrates understanding and passion for animal welfare
  • Reliable
  • Self-motivated and energetic
  • Excellent space planning / organizational skills
  • Basic math (for stock control)
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Works cooperatively and effectively with others
  • Diligent compliance with guidelines and protocols for personal safety 
Working Conditions:
  •  Physical demands of the position include: standing, bending, kneeling, carrying with a potential maximum weight of 100 lb / 45.4 kg
  • We recommend wearing steel-toe or closed toe shoes and clothing that has no sentimental value (ie. can get dirty and/or stained)
