Treasure Tails, the store with heart, goes ONLINE

The Georgian Triangle Humane Society (GTHS) is excited to announce that Treasure Tails, the organization’s thrift shop located in downtown Collingwood, has joined the e-commerce market! All sales from Treasure Tails go directly to GTHS operations.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on the GTHS’s revenue stream; from putting a temporary hold on adoption programs (which are now up and running virtually),closing the Treasure Tails retail store (now open to shoppers in a limited capacity), to cancelling the organization’s biggest fundraising event of the year, The Furball Gala.  In the absence of funds typically generated by the aforementioned programs, the GTHS continues to feed, house and provide medical treatment to animals in need while serving financially limited pet owners through pet pantry and pet retention programs. The mission of the GTHS is to provide innovative programs and compassionate services to pets and people in need, enhancing and celebrating the human-animal bond that is so critical to human wellness.  Without government funding, Treasure Tails, the store with heart, is a lifeline for these essential services.

“Like so many businesses in the downtown Collingwood core, we are delighted that our little store can operate our services again. We are excited to be launching into an online platform hoping it will allow us to reach new clients and bring our high quality, lightly used household goods, right to the comfort of your home. I am incredibly proud of our team that made this a reality in such a short period of time.” said Sonya Reichel, executive director for the GTHS.

Thanks to Mike Sharpe, who donated his time on this project, we have now launched our Treasure Tails Online Store! Shoppers will have the opportunity to browse for and purchase the same kind of unique items offered in-store from the comfort of their own homes. Once an item has been purchased online, a Treasure Tails Team member will contact the purchaser to arrange for a pickup time. Curbside pickups will take place at the store’s retail location – 186 Hurontario Street in downtown Collingwood.

Should shoppers be looking for a more hands-on experience, Treasure Tails is open from 11am-3pm from Tuesday – Saturday by appointment. To book your personal shopping experience, call (705) 293-3233, email treasuretails@gths.ca or send a message to the Treasure Tails Facebook page. Donations of lightly used goods will also be accepted in a few weeks by appointment, the organization is incredibly grateful to their generous donors.
