The Rotary Club of Wasaga Beach Supports the GTHS

Wasaga Beach Rotary member Angela Piercey (left), Teri Band (Georgian Triangle Humane Society) and Karen and Brad Marsh were on hand as the The Wasaga Beach Rotary Club recently donated to the GTHS.

The Georgian Triangle Humane Society (GTHS) was delighted to accept a cheque for $2,000 from the Rotary Club of Wasaga Beach for the GTHS Pet Retention Program. Without any form of government funding, the GTHS relies heavily on community partners like the Rotary Club of Wasaga Beach to fund essential programs designed for the wellbeing of people and pets. This generous contribution was provided through funds raised by the Rotary Club’s Corvette Lottery.

The Pet Retention Program works to keep families together with their loving pets in times of financial crisis. An estimated 10% of these surrendered pets are from loving families that cannot afford one-time services such as acute medical expenses, surgical care or short-term boarding. Surrendering their pet during a crisis can often mean pet owners are losing their loving companion during a period of their life when they need them the most. Thank you to the Rotary Club of Wasaga Beach for realizing this important need.
