In just a few short days, the GTHS animal shelter has taken in over 35 kittens that are in need of food, care and shelter. This large intake brings the animal shelter to an all-time high of over 160 cats and kittens in their program. With emergencies walking in the door daily, the society is appealing to the community for support.
Keagan is one of the hundreds of stray kittens that come to the GTHS each year. He was found with brother, alone, hungry and terribly injured.
KEAGAN is receiving life-saving surgery removing a terribly damaged eye.
Please help us save him!
Your donation is helping Keagan live the best life he can. We are grateful for your consideration: https://www.gths.ca/donatenow/
Every year dozens of animals enter the Guardian Angel program to help them receive all the support they need and you can participate and be the Guardian Angel Keagan needs.
“With over 150 cats and kittens in our care and more coming in every day, we are all working at full capacity. We are going through a month’s worth of supplies in under two weeks. This, combined with dozens of medical emergencies that need treatment, means we are really starting to feel the impact.” said Sonya Reichel, Executive Director for the GTHS.
To help meet the need from the community, the GTHS has developed a few options:
Consider Adoption during the PAWsivitely PURRfect Summer Promotion
From now until the end of August, all cats and kittens adoption fees have been reduced by 50% to help facilitate loving adoptions. With cats now at $50 and kittens at $75, their adoption stills includes their spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, parasite treatment and I.D. microchip. Come visit the shelter any day of the week between 12-4pm.
Consider being a Foster Hero
So far this year, over 130 mother cats and kittens have been fostered by GTHS foster heroes. This life-saving work allows the society to help unweaned kittens, nursing mothers and pregnant cats. The GTHS is currently recruiting more volunteers to join this team. Email volunteer@gths.ca if you are interested.
Consider Sponsoring Litter for the Shelter Cats and Kittens
Join local businesses by supporting the GTHS litter program. Just $100 to the GTHS will purchase ten, 40 lbs bags of litter for the shelter cats and kittens. We will thank your business by sharing your generosity on our social media platforms. Just call 705-445-5204 ex 221 to start the process today!
In addition, the GTHS is continually grateful for community support. By joining the PAW monthly giving program or making a gift to the GTHS, you are ensuring that every homeless pet gets the second chance they deserve. Visit www.gths.ca/donate-now/ to help today and save a life.
