On June 25th, the Georgian Triangle Humane Society held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Collingwood Legion. This gathering of volunteers, staff, and donors looked back at the impact of 2023, celebrated the contributions of our volunteers and staff, and recognized new board members and leadership.
To read the 2023 Annual Report and stories of impact, please click here. Last year, the GTHS saw a significant increase in animal care through intakes, surrenders, and hospital services provided. In 2023, the GTHS performed more than 2,600 spay/neuter surgeries, administered nearly 2,000 rabies vaccines, and microchipped nearly 2,000 pets. The GTHS sheltered 1,565 animals and saw 1,371 pets adopted last year.
The AGM also marked a change in our board leadership, as Barbara Foster steps into the role of Chairperson with David Garner stepping down after 11 years of serving in this capacity. The GTHS is deeply grateful to David for his steadfast leadership during this time, as we have grown as an organization and look to the future. David’s passion for animals and people is evident, and he has laid a strong foundation for us to build on in the coming years. We want to welcome new members Sarah Potter and Nick Minotti to our Board of Directors.
We also want to recognize the milestone years of service for the following volunteers:
10 Years of Service:
- Marie Phipps-Bunting
- Brian Rosenkrands
- Judy Sterling
- Marg Thompson
15 Years of Service:
- Chris Yorke
