The 2022 Annual General Meeting: A Huge Success with a Glimpse of the Exciting Future

The Georgian Triangle Humane Society Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on June 23rd at the Collingwood Legion. This gathering brought together volunteers, staff members and donors who reviewed all of the successes of 2021 and what’s ahead of the future of the GTHS. What made this meeting special was that this was the first in-person AGM since 2019.

After Ashley Kulchycki’s Call to Order, Sonya Reichel, Executive Director, presented the overview of the 2021 successes and financials.

2021 Financial Statements

Throughout 2021, there were many wonderful moments and positive impacts made by you. Take the story of Zinc, a beloved cat who was reunited with her adopter who moved out of province. Or the success of our Home for the Holidays campaign which resulted in a stunning 127 cats being adopted in December 2021.

The GTHS also made a big leap forward into the by closing a five-acre land deal in Collingwood south-end. The new Regional Centre for Pets and People will be a 19,200 square foot centre which will allow more space, additional services and a brighter future for the GTHS.

We warmly welcome our new Board Member Derrick March!

Please view his bio on our website here. We also bid farewell to Board Members Teri Band and Kevin Swanborough. The GTHS team thanks them for their amazing support and efforts. We wish them luck in their future endeavors.

We also want to acknowledge Susan Brooke, a GTHS Board Member who sadly passed away earlier this year. She was a good friend to the GTHS and she will be missed within our organization.

Finally, a big congratulations to the following volunteers who have reached incredible milestone anniversaries with the GTHS in 2021.
