We are proud to announce that this year’s 10th Anniversary GTHS Walkathon has raised upwards of $90,000, with donations still being received through this week. Thank you GTHS Champions. You are a community of champions. Love really does live in this community.
Walkathon Week took place from July 31st – August 6th with 141 registrants, 23 teams and all their furry companions! GTHS Champions went the distance in support of the homeless, hungry and hurting animals of South Georgian Bay.
The 10th Anniversary GTHS Walkathon in-person walk was held at the 2022 Tails of the Mountain Pet Festival, where animal lovers and their pets gathered and made memories in celebration of GTHS. It was the perfect finish to an incredible Walkathon event week.
Thank you to all our registrants, donors, event sponsors, volunteers, and in-kind partners. We cannot continue to do the work we do without you. You keep the lights on and let love shine at GTHS.
GTHS relies entirely on community fundraising. The success of our annual Walkathon ensures we keep providing innovative and customized compassionate care to the vulnerable pets and people of South Georgian Bay. Over the course of this year your fundraising efforts, including the 10th Anniversary GTHS Walkathon, will have the ability to impact the community as follows:
- Providing shelter to 1,500 homeless animals
- Spaying/neutering 2,700 pets and feral cats
- Keeping 420 pets with their families during crisis
- Impacting ~2,000 youth through our humane education programs
- Ensuring ~320 families have food for their pets when struggling with finances
