The Georgian Triangle Humane Society offers free Humane Education presentations and tours for groups of all ages. Through engaging discussions, activities and firsthand learning, participants explore the human-animal bond while building empathy, compassion and respect for all living beings.
Our Humane Education experiences encourage participants to:
- Develop a deeper understanding of the value of all living things
- Learn about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare
- Explore the human-animal bond and the important role pets play in our communities
- Reflect on their own perceptions and treatment of animals
- Build kindness, compassion and responsible citizenship
Sessions can be adapted to the age, interests and learning needs of each group.
Presentations at Your School or Location
Bring Humane Education into your classroom or community space!
A member of the GTHS Humane Education team will visit your school, organization or community group for an interactive presentation designed to encourage curiosity, conversation and compassionate thinking.
Presentation Details
Length: 30 minutes to 1 hour
Group Size: Any size
Cost: Free
Service Area: Presentations are available in Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Meaford, Thornbury and Clearview. If your group is located outside these areas, please reach out to us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Animal Visitors: GTHS presentations do not typically include animal interactions. An animal visitor may be requested in advance; however, animal visitors cannot be guaranteed and will depend on animal availability, individual needs and comfort levels.
Booking Notice: For custom presentations, we recommend submitting your request at least three weeks in advance.

Tours of the GTHS Animal Centre
Step inside the GTHS Animal Centre and discover what goes into caring for pets in our community.
Tours give classes and community groups an opportunity to learn more about animal welfare, responsible pet care and the work that happens every day at GTHS. Participants will explore the Centre, learn about the different ways GTHS supports pets and people, and may have opportunities to meet some of the animals in our care.
Tour Details
Length: 45 minutes to 1 hour
Group Size: Maximum 25 participants, including adults
Supervision: A minimum 1:10 adult-to-child ratio is required
Ages: 4+
Cost: Free
Availability: Full Animal Centre tours are available after 4:00 p.m.
Animal Interaction: Participants will have opportunities to interact with GTHS animals; however, the level of interaction will vary depending on the animals available and their individual needs and comfort levels.
