A ‘Tangy’ Zest for Life

It’s not every day that you come across an animal story that is so inspiring that it needs to be shared and celebrated.  That is the case with Tangy, the kitten that recently came to the GTHS from a feral cat colony nearby.

Tangy was incredibly sick when he arrived in our care.  Both of his eyes were infected and scabbed over, his stomach was bloated and the rest of him was skin and bone.  Things didn’t look good for sweet Tangy.

The GTHS team went right to work to see what could be done to help Tangy. The decision was made immediately to remove his left eye, as the infection had done too much damage. Since the surgery, Tangy has been getting used to his new surroundings and has been getting stronger everyday with the help of food and antibiotics.

Tangy is an inspiration to everyone here at the GTHS.  He is a fighter and has proven time and time again that he is determined to live his best life, no matter the circumstances.

The best part about Tangy’s story is that he has been adopted to a loving family who has experience caring for cats with limited vision. Despite the challenges ahead for him, the GTHS team knows he will thrive in a new forever home. Happy tails, Tangy!
