Registration is NOW OPEN for our summer programs. All sessions are IN PERSON and focused on promoting the human-animal bond through interacting with animals and other like-minded participants. Our programs are located at the Animal Centre and off-site. Check out our amazing offerings below, led by our Humane Education Coordinator, Molly Freedman, and her incredible team of volunteers.

THE GTHS EXPERIENCE

- Located at the Animal Centre, participants will shadow Molly, Humane Education Coordinator, so they can assist her in a variety of shelter animal care tasks including feeding, enrichment, wellness exams and so much more!
Registration fee: $45 + HST
BEAUTIFUL JOE PARK TOURS & ACTIVITIES
- All ages welcome
- 10 AM – 12 NOON

- Join the GTHS as we partner with Beautiful Joe Park in Meaford for a tour of the Canadian birthplace of Humane Education and explore the gorgeous outdoor setting!
- Located at 162 Edwin St, Meaford, ON N4L 1E3
- Molly Freedman, Humane Education Coordinator, will be leading the tour with the volunteers at the park so kids can learn about the most beloved dog in our history, Beautiful Joe
- Participants will explore nature, paint rocks, and spend time with other animal lovers so they can learn about compassion and empathy for all living things while having fun outdoor
- Rain or shine
- Parents are asked to drop off their kids at 9:45 AM and make sure they have a water bottle, sunscreen, a hat and appropriate clothing and footwear.

YOUTH CLUB
- IN PERSON
- 12 – 18 years
- Mondays, August 8 – October 3
- Session One: 4:30-6 PM – 12-15 years
- Session Two: 6:15-7:45 PM – 15-18 years
- Time spent with live shelter animals with a focus on activities to prepare youth for their future:
- Multiple opportunities to improve empathy and compassion through positive social interactions and the Human-Animal Bond;
- Spend time with like-minded individuals;
- Work on improving social anxiety by learning about ourselves; and,
- Build compassion and empathy for all living things.
Registration Fee: $80 + HST
STORY TIME AT THE BLUE MOUNTAINS LIBRARY
- July 8th at 11 AM
- Join Molly, our Humane Education Coordinator, and her beautiful dog, Sasha, for storytelling and dog cuddles.
