The Georgian Triangle Humane Society (GTHS) participated in National Cupcake Day (NCD) again this year and it was SWEET beyond our expectations! We are still tallying funds raised from this year’s campaign so make sure to keep your eyes out for the final results! Individuals and businesses are STILL holding cupcake parties and fundraisers in support of NCD through into March – we love the commitment! On Saturday February 22, the GTHS held our first ever Youth Cupcake Challenge. We had 16 youth competing and everyone had so much fun! Every single design theme was so creative! We had London Fog, Strawberry Funfetti, Butty Butt, Cinnamon Maple, and S’more themed cupcakes just to a name a few. A big GTHS congratulations to Lexi Hewton who took home 1st place! Lexi, and her mom Cheryl, traveled all the way from Tobermory area to compete and blew the judges away with her attention to detail and skill. We are so impressed and can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with next year!
On Sunday February 23rd, we held our Annual GTHS Cupcake Day Party here at the GTHS Animal Centre in Collingwood. We were serenaded with sunshine and oh so many cupcakes! We sold over 700 cupcakes to our pawesome community. Thank you to everyone who baked, ate cupcakes, cuddled our kitties, and came out to support this special day. We are also OVER THE MOON happy to be celebrating not one, not two, but SIX adoptions that took place at our Cupcake Day Party! Happy pups Leaf, Polar, and Truly found their forever homes, as well as lucky kitties, Onyx, Kahuna, and Nala.
Cupcakes can change lives and this National Cupcake Day, the Georgian Triangle community showed how it is done! Over 50 local businesses and individuals held cupcake day parties or fundraisers. The funds raised from NCD are critical to helping animals in need. Thank you SO SO much to everyone who participated, contributed, volunteered, and supported this campaign….this is only possible because of generous people like YOU!
