Ready, Set, BAKE a difference for animal welfare!
February 1, 2017
It’s the MOST delicious time of year again!
Did you know that simply by baking cupcakes you can help animals in need? Bakers across the Georgian Triangle are pulling out their aprons and dusting off their cupcake tins in preparation for National Cupcake Day.
Each year hundreds of abused, abandoned and neglected animals are brought to the Georgian Triangle Humane Society. The funds you raise for National Cupcake Day™ will have a significant impact on our ability to save lives!
All Cupcake Day parties are run by animal-lovers like you and are held at workplaces, homes, schools and community centers across the country. Businesses in particular are a delicious place to hold a Cupcake Day party!
National Cupcake Day™ is Monday, February 27, 2017 although you can hold your Cupcake Day party on whatever day works best for you in January or February.
“I absolutely love this event, so was excited to be asked to chair it this year. It’s not just because I have a sweet tooth and love to bake, but this is an event that really brings our community together,” states Pam Odam, volunteer Chair of National Cupcake Day.
“Whether you’re an individual, small business or large corporation, there’s something for everyone in terms of getting involved, raising money and supporting the animals in our community that are in need of our care. And that’s what it’s all about.”
The GTHS Team would like to also invite supporters to join us for our Coffee, Cupcakes and Kittens event held on Sunday, February 26th between 11am and 3:30pm at the animal shelter located at 549 Tenth Line. Come enjoy a coffee and a cupcake or two (or three!) and visit the cats & kittens! You can also do take-out and bring some home to share with your family and friends!
Special thanks to the Royal LePage Trinity for generously sponsoring this delicious event.
