Order of Collingwood – Our Maggie Lowe

Order of collingwood recipient – maggie lowe

This weekend the Order of Collingwood was presented to our own Maggie Lowe.

The Order of Collingwood is awarded to those people who have made outstanding volunteer contributions to improve social, cultural and or recreational conditions in the Town of Collingwood.

Maggie Lowe and her husband moved to Collingwood in 2002, after purchasing a chalet in 1993. She became involved with the Collingwood and District Humane Society in 2003 after adopting a dog and became the Chair of Fundraising and a Board Member.

Her many volunteer accomplishments include the creation of the Annual Furball Gala, the Need Paws Golf Tournament plus many smaller fundraising events. Maggie was also involved with the committee to raise funds for the new Collingwood Animal Shelter.

In 2010, Maggie created the beginnings of Treasure Tails which operated in a ware house for either months and then moved to its permanent location on Hurontario Street selling donated goods from the community with profits going back to the shelter.

In addition Maggie is also a member of Probus By the Bay and a Member of a Book Club. She enjoys golfing, snowshoeing and skiing.

congratulations maggie! we are so proud of all the work you do.
