What is National Cupcake Day™?
National Cupcake Day™ is a coordinated Canadian event to support local shelters, SPCAs, and Humane Societies. In 2016, animal lovers across Canada raised over $615,000 in support of their favourite societies. The national campaign has raised $1.85 million to date!
Each year thousands of abused, abandoned and neglected animals across Canada are rescued by SPCAs and Humane Societies. The funds you raise for National Cupcake Day™ will have a significant impact on the shelters, clinics and animal cruelty inspectors in your community, ensuring that their life-saving work continues.
All Cupcake Day parties are run by animal-lovers like you and are held at workplaces, homes, schools and community centers across the country. Businesses in particular are a delicious place to hold a Cupcake Day party!
National Cupcake Day™ is Monday, February 27, 2017 although you can hold your Cupcake Day party on whatever day works best for you in January or February. The Canada-wide event is supported by the Ontario SPCA and BC SPCA on behalf of participating local shelters, SPCAs, and Humane Societies.

Many Ways to Participate & Support GTHS
You at Home. Bake and sell cupcakes to family and friends and donate the proceeds. Tell your friends, co-workers and neighbours you are raising money for animals in need and invite them to your Cupcake Day party. Think of people who appreciate your baking. Think of people who love animals like you do! Ask them to donate online in advance so you can relax and enjoy your Cupcake Day Party!
It’s so easy to host a National Cupcake Day™ party and “bake” a difference. You can register for free here.
Once registered, you can set up your very own Personal Fundraising Centre where you can promote your event, collect donations and upload images of yourself/your team, your pets and your baking creations.
You at Work. National Cupcake Day™ can be held on any day in January or February. Feel free to make National Cupcake Day™ a part of your casual Friday or another workplace celebration. The workplace is the perfect place to throw a National Cupcake Day™ Party! Raise morale and be the host with the most!
Everyone loves a cupcake – and National Cupcake Day™ can fit nicely into a morning or afternoon coffee break – or both if your cupcakes last that long!
Our Community… Businesses can sell Cupcakes, a Specialty Item or Paper Cupcakes. Throughout the month of February, local businesses can get involved in a variety of ways. Bakeries can sell cupcakes and have a portion of the proceeds go toward Cupcake Day. Is coffee your specialty item? If so, contribute a percentage of all your sales for the month. None of the above? That’s ok. How about selling paper cupcakes at $2 each and we’ll provide you with a coin box for the donations which makes it real simple!!
Order Cupcakes from Us! Love eating cupcakes but baking’s not your thing… then you can order directly from us and we will deliver directly to your door! Celebrate National Cupcake Day™ with your team or clients. Nom, nom, nom!

Our shelter will be open to all as we host our own Cupcake Day party! Come enjoy a coffee and a cupcake or two (or three!) and visit the cats & kittens! You can also do take-out and bring some home to share with your family and friends!
