National Volunteer Week

National Volunteer Week
Our volunteers do so much to help hundreds of animals in the care of GTHS. Without their hard work, dedication, and passion for animals, we would not have been able to accomplish everything we did this past year. Thank you to ALL of our volunteers who came out over the last 12 months to help at both our Shelter and our Treasure Tails store.

Our volunteers work with and for the animals at GTHS. It is truly a labour of love. Each and every day of the year, animals in the shelter are waiting for our care as they patiently wait for their forever family to come along.

A typical volunteer day at the shelter involves 35 hours in Cat Care, 25 hours in Dog Care, 5 hours in Reception/Administration, 9 hours in other duties such as dishes and laundry, and 20 hours at our Treasure Tails store. That is the equivalent of 12 and a half full-time people!

As a team, we were able to help 650 Cats & Kittens as well as 216 Dogs & Puppies find their forever homes in 2015! We also were able to help 14 Cats and 71 Dogs reunite with their owners!

Stay tuned to our blog this week as we feature a few of our GTHS Volunteers and how their contribution helps our organization
