Lost & Found Pets – New Process

The GTHS would like to communicate an important change to our Lost and Found Pets process. We have been diligently assessing our current process to ensure we are providing the best support to our surrounding community, recognizing that situations involving a lost pet can be very time sensitive and require extensive outreach to reunite a pet with their family.

We have launched a new website page, linked to our Lost & Found website page, which will display all found animals (cats & dogs) that have come into GTHS care. These animals will remain listed on this page until they have been either reunited with their owners or have been adopted. We will start to share found animals that have come into our care on our main GTHS Facebook page. This will hopefully allow for more views & interactions in the hopes of reunification.

As a result of this new process, we will be shutting down the GTHS Lost & Found Facebook page, effective July 1, 2023.  This page has lost some of its functionality over the past few months, which is not providing the best support to those who have lost a pet.

If you have lost a pet, please check our website to see if they are in our care.  You can also refer to the following Facebook groups pertaining to your area:

  1. Lost & Found Pets in Simcoe County.  Ontario, Canada
  2. LOST & FOUND animals of Grey/Bruce and surrounding areas
  3. Lost & Found pets of Georgian Triangle (Wasaga Beach, Collingwood & Area)
  4. Lost and found pets of Meaford (Grey and area)
  5. Wasaga Beach Area Lost & Found Pets

We will be evaluating this new process for the next 3 to 6 months to make sure we are providing the best chance for lost pets.  We appreciate your understanding.
