On Tuesday May 8th, 2018 the Georgian Triangle Humane Society hosted our inaugural Lee’s Luncheon event. Lee Pettersen was a dedicated community member, philanthropist, and animal lover. With the sun shining bright, a light breeze, and a view of the Georgian Bay, the Lakeside Seafood and Grill was the perfect venue and backdrop for this event. It could not have been a more beautiful day to honour Lee’s legacy and her passion for helping animals in need.
It was a lovely afternoon as 70 like-minded individuals gathered for lunch, to shop the vendor marketplace, win raffle baskets put together with generous donations from local businesses, and bid on unique live auction pieces. The live auction item of the afternoon was an exquisite cheese board with gold flecks from Stonewater Studios with Lee’s signature words “Attitude. Gratitude. Hope” stamped on the back.
The afternoon concluded with Lee’s daughter, Kate Pettersen, sharing some poignant stories about her mother’s love of all creatures and memories of her adventures rescuing animals of all shapes and sizes, from Jack Russell Terriers to chickens!
To date Lee’s Luncheon has raised over $13,500 to help neglected and abandoned animals!!!
