Kittypalooza finds homes for 70 cats and kittens

Kittypalooza was a smashing success with the event finding loving homes for 70 cats and kittens at the Georgian Triangle Humane Society. Of these, 56 kittens, 9 adults and 4 seniors were adopted.

“We are blown away by the support and enthusiasm from our community. Adopters were lining up to view our adoptable cats, we were just thrilled!” states Sonya Reichel, executive director

Kittypalooza ran Friday July 8th, Saturday July 9th and Sunday July 10th, averaging one adoption every ten minutes for the entire weekend. Highlighting the event, several bonded pairs and long term residents found their forever home which was heart-warming to see.

The animal shelter is taking the week to clean, organize and rest while preparing to help more homeless cats and kittens in the community.

“We know that our shelter will fill up again quickly as there are many lives that need our help. This event will serve to increase our ability to help others. It is going to be a busy summer.”
