For the first time in three years, we were able to host our Holiday Open House. We opened our doors to behind-the-scenes access to the Animal Centre and our adoptable animals in hopes that they will all find homes for the holidays.
On December 8th, local animal lovers flocked to 549 tenth line Collingwood to celebrate the incredible support of our community over the past year. Guests were welcome to take a self-guided tour and experience the animals first hand. The kitten room and cat room were favourites, but the puppies stole the show! To see animals available for adoption, look HERE.
GTHS Champions enjoyed the animals, donated wish list items under the tree or contributed to our Holiday Campaign. Board members, staff and volunteers gave heartfelt thanks to our generous community. GTHS relies entirely on community support. We are so grateful for your impact.
Our local and loyal event partners: The Collingwood Brewery, Grey and Gold Cider Thornbury and Loblaw Collingwood provided delicious seasonal snacks and sampled select tasty brews like Happy Tails IPA, which is now available at the LCBO, with a portion of sales supporting the GTHS. Eddie, Wasaga Beach’s Bow Tie Cat arrived with $2K from his fundraiser. Wow! Thank you. Dave West Photography captured the magic of the open house. See more pictures HERE.
Thank you to everyone that attended. We cannot continue to do the work we do without you. Happy Tails and Happy Holidays. From all of us at GTHS, you are part of our family, and we wish you and everyone in this incredibly supportive community health and happiness in 2023. Thank you!
From David Garner, Chair of the GTHS Board of Directors:
This is the time of year most of us reflect on our lives.
We think about the year nearly ended and the year that lies ahead.
We think about our dreams and aspirations for the future and at the GTHS we are no different.
We reflect on how fortunate we are to have the community support that currently exists.
We look ahead to the un-met need yet to be addressed and are thankful for the continuing and growing support we receive.
We are thankful to all of our donors, dedicated volunteers and staff who make a difference in the lives of people and pets every day.
We have much to be thankful for, but we also have much more to accomplish.
Together we can fulfill our dreams.
On behalf of the Board, we would like to express our deep gratitude for the commitment and engagement we receive from all involved.
We wish you all health and happiness for the holidays and the years that lie ahead.
