GTHS Sunset Cruise creates waves beyond expectations
The GTHS Sunset Cruise was an amazing evening spent out on the water to help homeless and abandon animals. 50 community members boarded Collingwood Charters for a tour of Georgians Bay’s coastline and escarpment. The Cruise featured a live auction, raffles, delicious and locally prepared cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
“I am so excited to have the opportunity to support the GTHS. I have always loved animals and I am so happy that the GTHS introduced Greg and I to our furry friend Elly. She now has a forever home on our farm and loves to cruise with us on the Bay.” Says Lauren Matthews, Captain of Collingwood Charters.
The Sunset Cruise took place Thursday August 18th, and resulted in over $10,000 of funds raised to help homeless animals in need.
“In short, everything was perfect. The Georgian Bay coastline was spectacular, the sunset was stunning and we were even granted a gorgeous red moon. We are so thankful to all guests and community sponsors. We feel very grateful.” states Sonya Reichel, executive director for the GTHS.
The Georgian Triangle Humane Society is looking forward to upcoming community events. The next being the annual Friends for Life Walkathon September 24th taking place in the Blue Mountain Village with vendors, prizes and lots of dogs galore.
