For the Love of Dogs
All the dogs, puppies, staff and volunteers are excited to announce the opening of their very own play yard for dogs. The park was generously funded by the Keep Family Foundation allowing the humane society to offer room to play, socialize, learn and exercise to their canine residents.
“Exercise and play is an important part of stress reduction and increased welfare for shelter dogs. This park will not only make our dogs happier, but will help them to find loving homes faster due to increased adoptability and behavior. We are so grateful to be able to offer this play yard to our dogs!” stated Courtney Hancock, Canine Behaviour and Program Coordinator for the GTHS.
“Funding a play area for the dogs at the GTHS is something that the Keep Family Foundation is thrilled to do. The Foundation invests in projects in our community that improve the lives of those less fortunate including animals in need of a permanent home. This is an extension of the funds that the Keep Family have given to the shelter during its capital campaign.” says Deb Keep, President
The GTHS invites the community to their annual Holiday Open House on December 8th between 4-7pm for some holiday treats and cheer, a tour of the shelter and new park and an opportunity to meet some adoptable animals. More information can be found at www.gths.ca
