Today is our favourite day of the year….LOVE YOUR PET DAY!
This February 20th the GTHS staff wanted to celebrate their GTHS adopted pets! We asked the question “Why do you love your GTHS pet?” Please enjoy the answers we received:
Sue and Nikki
“I feel so blessed to be a part of Nikki’s life. She has taught me many things since I brought her home with me in August of 2014. She has taught me that no matter what, the weather or temperature, its always a good day for a walk and that stopping to smell absolutely everything along the way has given me a reminder of how amazing nature is when you take time to notice. I love being welcomed home everyday by her calling to me the minute she sees my car. She is simply awesome.”
– Sue Dilts, Weekend Kennel Attendant with the GTHS
Calla and Eliza
“Eliza is the baby of the family and our little shadow. She has her own unique quirks that make us laugh every day, she constantly “talks” to us, and she never leaves our side. She is the perfect companion for us and her feline siblings!”
– Calla Lyon, Manager of Resource Development, Communications and Marketing at the GTHS
Lynne with her Ava and Cole
“I adore both my AVA and my COLE! They are both very different personalities, but they have both taught me to have more patience and I am grateful for that! ….and I can’t forget I LOVE Ava’s big silky soft ears!!”
– Lynne Patterson, Dog Care and Adoption Supervisor for the GTHS
Heather and Harrison
“I kept my eyes out for a second dog after starting work at GTHS last spring, and two months in, I met Harrison (was Tonka), and I knew he was the one! He is sweet, gentle, great with our kids and other pets, and just a total love bug 🙂 Couldn’t ask for a better dog to join our family! Thank you GTHS!”
– Heather Cole-Brownlow, Assistant Shelter Manager at the GTHS
Sonya and Max
“Max is the most challenging dog I have ever owned. On the outside, he is adorable and loving, however he has made sure that we are on top of our dog handling and training skills! Max has taught me and my family with many lessons and in return he has given us support, protective, love and loyalty. We are so lucky to have our Max.”
– Sonya Reichel, Shelter Manager for the GTHS
