POSITION AT THE GTHS
Glen and Linda are volunteer dog walkers and cat socializers at the GTHS, but that is not all! Several months ago, Glen “stepped up” and offered to re-paint the vast majority of the interior of the GTHS shelter. We were blown away! This major project took a large amount of time and dedication and resulted in a fresh looking shelter for our visitors, adopters, staff and volunteers. Way to go!
A message from Glen and Linda
” We currently enjoy two cats, but we used to include two dogs in our family. We missed the whole dog experience…so becoming a dog walker at the GTHS seemed a natural fit for us. What a wonderful experience walking/playing with new dogs every week. Playing in the cat room is an added bonus to our weekly visits.
The GTHS staff and other volunteers have such a passion for their contributions to the well being of all those wonderful loving animals. It is sheer joy every time we help out.
The “home owner” in me could not help noticing the need for some wall repairs and paint. We usually donated a few dollars every year to charity so why not donate some paint. The gift of this beautiful shelter needs to be respected and I feel privileged to be able to help out in a small way to it’s upkeep. I got to meet even more staff and volunteers during the early morning hours I painted. The GTHS is VERY busy during the day…I am sure I made it interesting for everyone needing to dodge the wet paint on the walls. There were a few new fashion looks from accidentally painted jeans and coats.” – Glen
