Feature Volunteer

Sharon J.

Position: Treasure Tails, GTHS Animal Shelter ReceptionSharon

About Sharon

I volunteer because I love the animals, mostly the dogs but I have become attached to cats since working at the shelter.  I have time to give and what better way to give than help our animals.

Our last dog, Harley was rescued from the Burlington Lab Rescue and he was the best!  We had him for 12 years and he is sadly missed

Why Sharon Volunteers

The best aspect of our Shelter is the fact that all our animals come in the back door and go out the front door with forever loving new families.

Our Volunteers are the best, what a hard working group of women and men, we are so lucky to have them all along with very co-operative, hard working managers and board.  Nothing is perfect but we are darn close to it!

Fun fact

Most people may not know this but I was the Chair of Titz’n Glitz and Frontline Breast Cancer Foundation for 12 years, a very fulfilling job indeed.  I was also a Real Estate Law Clerk in Toronto for the Law firm of Blake, Cassels and Graydon for 18 years, very challenging and interesting.

A quote from one of Sharon’s fellow volunteers:

“I met Sharon while volunteering with Treasure Tails. She is such a delight to work with – always smiling, great with the customers  as well as having a positive attitude and  a great sense of humour. Sharon is a real team player, always ready to help with whatever is needed whether it’s time, money or to go the “extra mile”. Sharon is generous, compassionate and the animal visitors to Treasure Tails love her! She is a real asset to the GTHS organization and I am very lucky to work with her on a regular basis.

Way to go Sharon!”
