Rebecca volunteers within the Dog Care Team, as a Red Walker and as Tuesday & Thursday 8pm Let-Out. She often covers for her team members and has recently offered to cover Wednesday Let-Outs on a short-term basis.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN VOLUNTEERING WITH THE GTHS? I have been volunteering at the GTHS since March 2018. WHAT KEEPS YOU COMING BACK?
Being able to spend the day with all the dogs at the shelter is probably one of my favourite things to do. It never fails to put a smile on my face when you walk into a kennel and are greeted by a wagging tail and a smiling face. Also, being surrounded by animal lovers who share the same passion as you makes it even better. WHAT PETS DO YOU SHARE YOUR LIFE WITH? I currently live with my cat Mia, who was adopted from the GTHS in December 2017. I also have my family dog, Ozzie, a shih tzu mix, who currently lives with my parents.
WHERE ARE YOU FROM? WHEN DID YOU MOVE TO THE AREA?
I was born in Brampton and was raised there and in Caledon East. I have lived in Collingwood on and off for the last 3.5 years due to work and became a permanent resident at the beginning of this year.
WHICH TALENT WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO HAVE?
Probably to still be able to play instruments. I used to be able to play the piano, but stopped practicing a while ago, and I would love to play the guitar.
WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF THE BEST DAY EVER?
Hanging out with friends and family and my animals, or travelling around the world.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PASTIME (HOBBY)?
I enjoy reading, watching movies, and volunteering at the GTHS.
DO YOU HAVE ANY PHOBIAS OR FEARS?
I hate almost all insects and have a slight fear of heights.
IF YOU COULD HAVE DINNER WITH ANY CELEBRITY, WHO WOULD
IT BE?
Probably Blake Lively because she seems funny and down to earth.
Thank you Rebecca, for all you do for the GTHS!
