Lynda volunteers with her daughters in one of our Adoption Rooms on the weekend, helps with administrative tasks, is a Foster Volunteer, occasionally covers as a Cat Care Technician and is also a Hospital Volunteer; assisting with surgeries to spay / neuter GTHS cats and dogs, and with the provision of pre- and post-operative animal care.
How long have you been volunteering with the GTHS?
I began volunteering in 2015, left and returned in 2017.
What keeps you coming back?
The animals and the like-minded people who are there for them.
What pets do you share your life with?
Currently we have a foster kitten named Furgus, a dog we share between ourselves and a family friend, as well as 3 cats: Skitty Kat – a ten year old rescue, Ozzy and Jet – lively 4 year olds from GTHS.
Where are you from? When did you move to the area?
I was born and raised in Collingwood but left for most of my adult life, then returned to the Wood in 2012 to raise my two daughters.
Which talent would you most like to have?
It would be great if I had the ability to know exactly what animals are thinking.
What is your idea of the best day ever?
An ideal day is spending time with my family.
What’s your favourite pastime (hobby)?
I love reading.
Do you have any phobias or fears?
While fascinated by spiders, I will run if one is in the same room!
If you could have dinner with any celebrity, who would it be?
While not caught up in celebrity worship, I would love to have dinner with Anick and Emily (GTHS Director of Medicine and RVT); respect and love ‘em to death 😊
Thank you Lynda, for all you do for the GTHS!
