Glen supports the GTHS in a number of ways. He is a Dog Walker (with his wife Linda), but is probably best known for painting, repairing and doing “handy-person” chores around the GTHS building.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN VOLUNTEERING WITH THE GTHS?
I have been volunteering at GTHS for 4 years.
WHAT KEEPS YOU COMING BACK?
I want to help such an amazing community of loving and caring people, who make our world a better place by looking after vulnerable animals who deserve healthy, happy lives.
WHAT PETS DO YOU SHARE YOUR LIFE WITH?
Linda and I have been blessed with a few dogs, cats, hamsters, snakes and gold fish over the years. We now have only one 12 year female cat…Puss. She even RV’s with us as we travel during the winter.
WHERE ARE YOU FROM? WHEN DID YOU MOVE TO THE AREA?
I was born in Toronto and raised in North York… Go George S. Henry S.S.! I retired 7 years ago. Linda and I decided Wasaga Beach was the place to be, to take advantage of the great outdoors and a wonderful rural community atmosphere.
WHICH TALENT WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO HAVE?
I would love to be able to remember everyone’s names!
WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF THE BEST DAY EVER?
My best day ever would be jogging along a beach and camping with Linda… of course that could be replaced by having grand-children!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PASTIME (HOBBY)?
Jogging, swimming, music concerts.
DO YOU HAVE ANY PHOBIAS OR FEARS?
Yes – heights and scary movies.
IF YOU COULD HAVE DINNER WITH ANY CELEBRITY, WHO WOULD
IT BE?
Ellen DeGeneres… her humour makes me happy. Henry David Thoreau is another good choice; I also believe “simplify, simplify” your life.
Thank you Glen, for all you do for the GTHS!
