Feature Volunteer: Eimear

Eimear

Position at the GTHS

Eimear volunteers as a Resource Development Admin volunteer every Tuesday afternoon.  Her extensive background in administration and her advanced knowledge of databases has made her an invaluable member of our fundraising and donor development team!

Why did you want to volunteer at GTHS

I love animals and wanted to do something in my new community. Participating the organized volunteer orientation sessions made it super easy and learning that there was a need in the resource end of things meant that I could use some of the skills I have for the cause.

Why volunteering is important to Eimear

I have been very blessed with everything that I have in my life (husband, career to date (just need to find something up here!), wonderful family in law (as mine are scattered all over the world), great friends, good health…) and I like to carve out a space in my life to show my appreciation of all that I have.

Interesting Facts about Eimear

I am originally from Ireland.  After a number of years living in France and Spain, and subsequently in Toronto, I moved up to the Georgian Triangle last summer and my husband and I are building our home in The Blue Mountains right now. We have an amazing 2.5 yr old Collie/husky/shepherd male dog who is my constant companion.
