POSITION AT THE GTHS
Bonnie has been volunteering with the GTHS since January 2011. She is an incredibly “hands-on” volunteer: an animal care/intake technician who provides supportive care for our cats and dogs, administering vaccinations and medications, microchipping, and providing restraint for blood collection – to name a few of her many tasks. She is also a thorough and patient trainer, sharing her vast animal care skills with other volunteers. Bonnie is dedicated and always brings a great attitude along with her hard work. She is an incredibly valuable asset to the GTHS team! Thank you Bonnie for all that you do for our cats and dogs, including taking time for this interview:
What brought YOU to gths?
The chance to work with animals 😉
WHY DO YOU VOLUNTEER AT GTHS?
There are so many reasons why I choose to volunteer at GTHS!! First and foremost, like everyone here, would be my love of animals and wanting to ensure that as many as possible are happy, healthy and find loving homes. Another amazing part of being a volunteer, with GTHS, is the strong lasting bonds and friendships I’ve made along the way. Add in the never ending supply of knowledge, confidence and support, why would you not volunteer!?!
WHAT IS A FUN FACT ABOUT YOU?
During my free time I love wandering around the trails, boardwalk and wooded areas with my camera looking for different species of birds. I have this book of all the birds in Ontario – my goal is to get a photo of each different species (I’m up to 62). No matter where that may take me. I do love a good adventure!!
