Feature Volunteer: Muriel W.

Muriel W.

Position at GTHS

Muriel W. has never visited the GTHS Animal Shelter and yet she kindly contributes in a very special way. Muriel donates the bowl covers used in the Main Cat Adoption Room and the cat pads used in the quarantine rooms. She buys the fabric, sews them and then ships them from Ottawa! GTHS is so lucky to have Muriel!

What brought Muriel to the GTHS

It all started during a visit to Ottawa, when volunteer Jenn W. was talking about the shelter and Muriel asked if the animals needed bowl covers. The idea has blossomed from there!

“Muriel has made the stainless steel bowls on the two stands in the Main Cat Adoption Room so inviting! The bowl covers are usually patterned on one side with a complimentary plain colour on the second side. This serves two purposes. We appreciate her endeavours each time we change the bedding in the Main Cat Adoption Room and clean the cages in the individual rooms. We are lucky to have such a dedicated, generous volunteer whose efforts make the hands on volunteers in our lovely facility even more rewarding.”
