What brought Karen to the GTHS

Karen started volunteering because animals have always held a special place in her heart.

From Karen;

“I became a volunteer at the GTHS because when I owned my own business in Collingwood I had decided that when I retired I would give back to the community by volunteering.  GTHS was the perfect fit, both because of my love of animals and the wonderful reputation GTHS has in the community. While holding the position of Head of Volunteer Services at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Toronto, it made me realize the important role volunteering has in our society.  I admired the volunteers at the hospital who were so dedicated and compassionate.  Quite simply, I grew as a person.”

 Did you know?

Karen loves to garden, especially with ferns. She has 17 different varieties of ferns in her house!

Karen also enjoys travelling to the extent she has traveled to all 7 continents.  It was always on her bucket list to achieve this goal.

Karen is also the proud mother of THREE GTHS adopted cats._MG_0303
