Position at GTHS
Karen started at the GTHS as a dog walker over one year ago but soon realized she was also passionate about the cats! Karen now volunteers as a Cat Care Technician three times weekly providing our cats with medication, care, support and love!
What brought Karen to the GTHS
Karen started volunteering because animals have always held a special place in her heart.
“I became a volunteer at the GTHS because when I owned my own business in Collingwood I had decided that when I retired I would give back to the community by volunteering. GTHS was the perfect fit, both because of my love of animals and the wonderful reputation GTHS has in the community. While holding the position of Head of Volunteer Services at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Toronto, it made me realize the important role volunteering has in our society. I admired the volunteers at the hospital who were so dedicated and compassionate. Quite simply, I grew as a person.”
