Cynthia’s Story

When it comes to unconditional generosity, Cynthia Torokvei has been a pillar to the GTHS. Cynthia has been a leadership donor since 2013, supporting a variety of programs including the GTHS Animal Hospital, former Guardian Angels Program, and Pet Support Services.

In June of this year, Cynthia made an outstanding contribution to name the Cynthia Torokvei Companion Animal Hospital.

Her reason for giving is simple. It’s about kindness, her love and animals and in particular, keeping pets where they belong, together with their families.

“The many dogs in my life have been my friends. Buddy and Cleo were my support companions when I went through a tough time. They kept me going. My wish is that the as many animals as possible, get the love and support from the GTHS that they deserve”, she explains.

For Cynthia, having access to affordable veterinary care is her vision for the future of our community. She wants to inspire hope for families and help to keep them together.

“I like the concept of the Companion Animal Hospital. The facility will provide ongoing care for our beloved pets. It does not take much to become totally attached to our pets and we want the best possible care for them in all circumstances”, says Cynthia.

The vision of having a new Regional Centre for Pets and People in our community is a dream that Cynthia looks forward to realizing. A place where hope is given to families, especially when they are dealing with unforeseen emergencies or crisis.

“My gift to the GTHS was my way of giving back to those furry creatures that love us unconditionally. I wanted to do something meaningful while I am still able to see the finished product. This is a very exciting vision to look forward to seeing it completed.”

With thanks to Cynthia, our community will have a new fully accredited Companion Animal Hospital.
