COVID-19 UPDATE: March 17

Dear supporters and members of the South Georgian Bay Community:
In light of the current state of emergency just announced by the Government of Ontario, the Georgian Triangle Humane Society (GTHS) will be closed to the public until further notice. The GTHS currently has 72 animals in our care; in order to best serve these animals, adoptions will take place by appointment only.
To make an appointment to meet an adoptable animal please see more information at www.gths.ca/animals-for-adoption/
We are currently working on ways to help the most vulnerable sector of our community (seniors, unemployed, etc.); our Outreach Team is strategizing ways in which the GTHS can continue to provide some of these services – stay tuned for that announcement coming soon.
Treasure Tails, our retail store in downtown Collingwood, will also be closing temporarily until further notice. We are thinking up some creative ways to help provide you with some retail therapy while safely practicing social distancing – keep an eye out for more details on that shortly!
Please note that in order to reduce viral transmission, we are currently not accepting in-kind donations such as, but not limited to: used bedding, open bags of dog/cat food, used toys, used textiles. We will, however, accept new items.
We would like to assure the public that we will continue to provide our high standard of care to our animals. Should you wish to make a monetary donation to help offset these costs, visit www.gths.ca/donatenow/
Stay safe and healthy,
The GTHS Team
