Celebrating the Impact of the 12th Annual GTHS Walk for Pets Event

The Georgian Triangle Humane Society (GTHS) is thrilled to announce the tremendous success of our 12th Annual Walk for Pets Event and Festival, held on June 15th at Harbourview Park in Collingwood. This year, over 250 dedicated pet champions gathered to walk or run and save pets, raising an astounding $160,328 and counting. These funds will directly support the day-to-day operations and essential programs at the GTHS, helping thousands of pets in need.

We were grateful to have the support of Caron Shepley’s Paws 4 Cause, which honours the legacy of Caron Shepley, a life-long animal lover who dedicated her life to raising funds for animal causes before her untimely passing last September. “We are so thrilled that Paws 4 Cause has joined us to help make this the most successful Walk for Pets in GTHS history,” said Lisa Stucke, annual fund manager for the GTHS.

New this year was the Rainbow Bridge installation along the trail, where participants could remember their beloved pets. Additionally, the event featured a Kid Zone with face painting and a photo booth, live music by Strange Potatoes, and an on-site Yappy Hour hosted by the Collingwood Brewery.

Special recognition goes to our top contributors:

Largest Team: Owen & Associates, with 35 entrants who collectively walked 5,500 kms to save pets. WOW!

Top Fundraising Team: GTHS Adoptions Team, led by Cheryl and Kevin Drynan, exemplified a tremendous team effort.

Top Individual Fundraiser: Barbara Foster and her dog Blue, who walked in memory of Hunter. Barbara and Blue, thank you!
