Whether because of superstition or perhaps simply because they can be so easily overlooked when snuggled up in a dark bed or blanket, black cats are statistically less likely to be adopted than more brightly colored and uniquely marked felines.
To help change this statistic, GTHS is holding their ‘BLACK IS BACK’ promotion again! Until January 31st, we will be highlighting our beautiful black cats and reducing their adoption fee from $100 to just $50!
This $50 adoption fee includes their spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccinations, parasite treatment and microchip.
We are hopeful that this month-long promotion will help find loving homes for these forgotten kitties. If you’re looking for a good reason to bring a black kitty home, don’t worry, we’ve compiled a list for you! Just have a read through our BLACK IS BACK poster!

Our black shelter cats always tend to have the most wonderful and loving purrrsonalities. They have so much love to offer and ask for so little in return. Their fur colour makes no difference to how much love they have to give!
