Sometimes animals come to us with no place to call home and no owner to lean on. This is quite often the case when cat colonies are discovered, or feral cats make their way into our care.
Reggie came to the GTHS just a few weeks ago. He was a stray cat found with others by one of our volunteers who performs trap, neuter, release to help with over population in the community.
When Reggie arrived, he would normally be fixed and then released back in his habitat. However, it was very obvious that he had a massive abscess on this head that needed to be surgically removed. With no one to turn to, the GTHS was able to rely on our Guardian Angels fund to cover the cost of Reggie’s surgery.
Animals like Reggie are fortunate to have the support of our donors in circumstances like this when they need help immediately. Those who come to us injured or sick without someone to help them along.
This holiday season, thanks to a visionary donor, we are able to boost the help that we can give to our Guardian Angel pets when your gifts to this important program will be matched! This means that virtually every animal who comes to our animal hospital will receive the care that they need regardless of how they got here or whether they have an owner.
A big thank you for helping Reggie and others like him to their road to recovery. With your help, Reggie has been adopted into a very loving home. He is doing amazingly well and it’s hard to believe he was ever a stray. He has learned to climb stairs, play with toys and lay across the computer keyboard while his parents attempt to work!
Brighter futures lie ahead because of you!
Happy Giving Tuesday!!
PS: This #GivingTuesday we are gratefully accepting donations for the animals in our care like Reggie. Remember, your gift will be matched!
