S’mores is a 5-year-old cat, who was known to be quite the character during her time at the GTHS. S’mores waited very patiently to find her new home, and it sounds like she has settled in just perfectly:
S’mores is fitting in just right. She thinks the house belongs to her – her favourite place is on a small table in front of the living room window. She even sleeps there or in the soft glider chair near it.
She has a “wild spell” usually in the evening when she roars around the house like she is in a serious race.
It has now been four weeks since she came to us and every day she changes – coming more out of herself. When I am away, I think she hears the car come home and she is sitting in the hallway watching the back door for me. What a thrill!
She is still not very fond of petting – just when I feed her, she lets me run my hand from her head to her tail. When my grandson comes in from school, she lets him pet her, but only for her prescribed time period.
On Sunday we had company for supper – 5 adults. S’mores was quite happy to be part of the crowd and showing off for them.
All told, she is perfect for me. I don’t care if she doesn’t want to cuddle on my knee – that may come – but she is content on her perch and being in the same room with me. If she can’t see me, she comes looking.
Thanks so much!
Happy Tails, S’mores! We are over the moon that you have found a home that you are thriving in!
