Muriel is a 14-year-old feline who was one of the “Golden Girls” of the main cat room at the GTHS. In her time with us, she captured the hearts and attention of many of our staff and volunteers. Over the summer, it was evident that Muriel needed to find a loving home, where she could spend her golden years. We’re happy to share this uplifting note from Muriel’s new family:
We are very happy to advise that Muriel, now “M” (yes, from 007) has settled in very well. She has opened up in a very short time and is quite the love bug. Loves attention, especially head scratches, and a good comb. She will let you know that you are not done giving her attention with a little head nudge, meow or a pat on the arm.
We only lost our Sami, suddenly, a few weeks ago (16 years young), so I never imagined filling that void so quickly. But when I saw Muriel on my phone she tugged at my heartstrings. No senior cat should live their golden years anywhere other than in a loving home. I knew we were well equipped to handle any special needs that may occur in her later years. Of course, our two girls were excited right away about gets a new cat, but when [my husband] told me he was washing the cat carrier and bed, I knew he was smitten too. We lost Sami’s brother, Smudge, about eight years ago and it’s remarkable how much M looks like a senior version of him.
Thanks for taking such good care of M before she found her forever home. We all love her already!
Happy Tails, Muriel! We are so excited that you have found your home!
