Adoption Update: Maverick

“Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since my last update. I thought you might like to know that Maverick is doing incredibly well and has become a loving and joyous member of our family. For the first few months he mostly stayed in my bedroom, but he’s finally discovered life outside the bedroom and has found his favourite sunbeams throughout the house. I took a photo of him this morning lying on the living room floor. Such a happy boy.

I remember when I first met him in his cage at GTHS one of my wishes was that he would discover the joy of sleeping in a sunbeam. Is there anything more peaceful than a beloved pet luxuriating in the warmth of the sun!? Well, our dearest Mav has figured it out. He still loves to sleep on the “trunk” with his blankies, but more and more he’s embracing the rest of the house as his universe. He’s also figured out that the kitchen is a great place to hang out…..treats anyone?

He’s still a bit skittish around my adult sons, but he’s coming around. He no longer runs and hides, but goes a “safe” distance away and then returns once he’s satisfied that he can get rubs and scratches behind the ears, and perhaps a treat or 2.

He’s a loving, gentle, friendly cat and we all adore him.

We are all so happy he’s part of our family. Thank you for the care you gave him and be assured that he has found a loving home.”
