We received this heartwarming update from Kirby, now named Rafael, and it sounds like he has found a fantastic home to settle into:
We can’t believe it’s already been three weeks since we brought Rafael home. Time has really flown by.
He’s doing so well and continues to amaze us every day. But we can see him growing braver and more comfortable as the days go by. Rafael absolutely loves his daily walks with my parents and recently discovered how much fun it is to play in the snow and it’s been such a joy to watch!
He continues to form such a special bond with my mother. He listens for her voice and always comes when she calls. He’s also slowly warming up to my dad and learning that he’s surrounded by love. My parents have been so patient with him, letting him take everything at his own pace.
We’re all so grateful to see Rafael’s personality shining through a little more each day. He’s such a sweet, gentle soul, and we’re so happy he’s forever loved and part of our family.
P.S. The photo of Rafael sitting on the side table is next to a big window. My mother said he loves sitting there just to people watch.
