Adoption Update: Delta

Delta met his new family earlier this summer. Now named Moose, here’s what his family had to share with us:

Just wanted to give you a little Moose update. He’s doing really well and settling in more and more every day.

Moose has learned to be a lot more gentle and is improving more every day. Our walks have improved tremendously as has my confidence with him.

He has discovered a new passion: swimming! We’ve been taking him to the creek regularly and I’m convinced he’s part fish. He absolutely lives for splashing, swimming, and soaking up the sun. Watching him zoom through the water with pure joy is the best thing ever. It also tires him out, which is super helpful for us.

At home, Moose continues to be the sweetest goofball. He loves his frozen KONGs, especially when they’re filled with no-sugar peanut butter, plain Greek yogurt, bone broth… or sometimes all three. He loves them frozen and now thinks anything that comes from the freezer is for him. He sits so nicely and once given he’ll trot off to enjoy his treat like it’s a five-star meal.

He’s also been showing more independence lately, which has been really touching. We just got a couch, and the first night it was here, Moose chose to sleep on it instead of with us in bed – a big change, since he used to stick to us like Velcro at night. It feels like a sign that he’s starting to feel safe and secure in our home.

Moose tears most of his toys apart like it’s his job, but for some reason his little stuffed hedgehog is sacred. He carries it around so gently like it’s his baby. We don’t know why it’s special, but it’s absolutely precious.

We’re so grateful to have him in our lives – he’s goofy, loving, and full of personality. Thank you again for trusting us with this big-hearted boy!

Moose, happy tails as you enjoy your new adventures!
