Dear GTHS,
Agreeing to Chair the Walkathon this year and preparing to reach out to our community for support has reinforced to me how lucky we are to have an organization like the GTHS in our area and how much we need it. Not only does the GTHS provide animals with the love and care they need and deserve, they transform our lives by letting these animals come and live with us..we are the lucky ones! It is amazing to see the difference a community makes for these animals.
About a month ago we brought Linus (formally Horton) home. He was a tiny little guy who was in serious need to some TLC and food! Well he has received both and has flourished! He is a curious fellow who has taken to family life like a champ. He spends his days wrestling with his younger brother Desmond (our first GTHS adoption formally Ricardo) who loves every minute of it! They have become quite the tag team! He also enjoys snuggling in for a good nap with his older brother, Maurice, our 14 year old Jack Russell. The transformation is almost unbelievable…he seemed so slight and shy…that is not the case. Our Linus is a trouble maker who loves to dig in the dirt and play with as many toys as he can get. He is quiet taken with anything his tiny teeth can nibble on, including his brothers ears!
Adopting off the chi-chi Train twice has been the best thing we have ever done. These little characters stories are heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. As you bond with an animal you always wonder where they have been and what they have been through. I like to think that Desmond and Linus were in the same gang in New Mexico and have been reunited…friends forever 🙂 We did receive an amazing gift from New Mexico in the form of a FRONT PAGE newspaper article with the story of how our Linus came to be, which I have attached. It is an amazing story for an amazing dog!
On behalf of myself and every other adopter out there…THANK YOU for bringing these animals into our lives and spreading the love in our community!
