A few months ago, a local business owner, and dedicated GTHS donor, reached out to us for help. One of her employees, a new Canadian living on his own while supporting his family overseas, had brought his two family Shizu pups with him for companionship. One of his dogs was pregnant, and he was struggling to provide his pups with the care he knew they needed, while he himself was getting settled in his new home.
Our Outreach Team made sure that we could help support this pet Dad with supplies, vaccinations, dewormer, flea treatments, medication, and other resources. Our Hospital Team neutered the male pup with plans to spay the female once her puppies were born.
Fast forward to last week when Mama’s 3 adorable babies arrived to get ready for adoption. We are happy to say they are all healthy and have all found new loving homes through our adoption program. Mama has gone in for her spay surgery and is back home with her brother and Dad to start their lives in their new country.
The GTHS remains steadfast in our mission to provide programs and compassionate services that support the wellbeing of pets and people; we are so glad our Access to Care programs were able to keep this pet family together during a difficult time in their lives.
