It was another jam-packed evening at the 2019 GTHS Holiday Open House. The turnout was fantastic; adults and children lined the hallways, many with arms full of in-kind donations! We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – we have THE BEST community supporters ever.
We kicked off the evening by holding a cheque presentation for OslerBrook Golf and Country Club‘s generous Premier Sponsorship ($7,500) for the 2019 Furball Gala. Pictured below are Bill MacWilliam, President of OserlBrook Golf and Country Club, Kelly O’Neil, GTHS Development Manager, and Barbara Foster, GTHS Board Member and Chair of the GTHS Fundraising Committee.
The facility was abuzz! In the front kitten room, children gathered ’round the craft station to create some beautiful works of art; the cats in the main cat room were ‘feline’ extra special with all of the attention they were receiving; over in the conference room, guests dipped into the tasty treats and indulged in local wine, generously donated by wonderful donors; facility tours were taking place, with the new GTHS Animal Hospital (opened in April) being the highlight!
Amidst the mingling and jingling, The Kergan Family arrived with their annual holiday donation. For the third year in a row, Dave Kergan, owner of Westwinds Woodsculpting Studio, sold his handmade bowtie ornaments (representing The Kergan’s cat Eddie, the famous bowtie-wearing cat from Wasaga Beach who is also the GTHS National Cupcake Day Spokescat) to his clients and friends and raised a whopping $1,350 for the GTHS Animals! If that isn’t enough, Chris and Dave also arrived with a load of in-kind donations for our cats and dogs!!!
We can’t thank our community enough for the support you show our organization all year long.
Thank you to the following donors who made this event possible:
