The Georgian Triangle Humane Society Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on June 21st at the Collingwood Library. This gathering brought together volunteers, staff members and donors to celebrate the achievements of 2022, the dedication of our compassionate volunteers and staff and what’s ahead of the future of the GTHS.
After Ashley Kulchycki’s Call to Order, Sonya Reichel, Executive Director, along with members of the GTHS Leadership Team, presented an overview of the 2022 successes, stories of impact and financials.
Throughout 2022, there were many wonderful moments and positive impacts made by our volunteers, staff, and donors with the focus of keeping families together and pets safe. Take the story of Harley, a beloved dog who was cared for through the GTHS Emergency Boarding program while his owner recovered in hospital after a serious fall in her home. Or the incredible work of our Hospital Team, who performed an average of 50 surgeries per week, spaying and neutering over 2,500 pets in our community and subsidizing $770,000 in veterinary costs.

Momentum continues to build in the development of the new Regional Centre for Pets and People, which will enable the GTHS to make an even greater impact on the communities we support. Annually this new facility will:
- Welcome 30,000 visitors.
- Employ 50 staff and 600 volunteers.
- Provide over 8,500 Spay/Neuter surgeries.
- Engage over 6,000 youth in meaningful programming.
- Foster hope during crisis to over 2,000 people.
- Shelter over 3,000 animals.
These are exciting times for the organization, with much to look forward to in the future.
